Hairy Rocks

Eeek!  I'm scared!  And I'm wet. Where's my mommy?  Where's my brothers and sisters?
Who are you?

A peach?  I can't eat at a time like this!

I'm just going to sit right here until they find me.

Oh thats a little better.  I will hide my face.
If I can't see you, you cant see me.
I will just look like a hairy rock.
The End

P.S.  It did actually start to eat the peach later

Who Knew?

Who knew that when we decided to go on the ATV trails through the state parks and countryside for the first time it would be such an adventure?

Who knew with all my loyalty towards my Canon camera I would not only be taking pictures with a phone but I would also wish I had a simple camera that would fit in my pocket?  Oh the betrayal!

Who knew the smell of the tall tall pine trees along with the sight of wild Columbine and Iris's could be so intoxicating?

Who knew when you were suddening deep in the forest it gets really really cool and dark?

Who knew with all that extra natural padding on my backside, it could still be sore at the end of the ride.

Who knew we would be sharing the trail with the deer that ran in the front of us and along the side of us in the woods?

Who knew that four people riding along on the same path could all see such different things on the trail.

Who knew that when we stopped for lunch and took this picture of our beloved pink and white Nikes because they had gotten so dirty, that they were actually still in pretty good shape.

Who knew we would have to go through puddles this huge when we had been driving on what seemed like a sand dune for so long? And who knew my BIL would have so much fun in it?

Who knew four wheelin' could be that much fun?  Seriously, WHO KNEW??

It's a dogs life.

This is Sam. Sammie Girl. Sam Sam. Depending on who is referring to her.
Most of the time she thinks she is the Queen.

When she was little she had quite the attire.
I think she was waiting for Christmas dinner.
Can you spare a bone?

This was her "I'm a biker puppy" outfit.

 Hmmm Happy Dog outfit.
She's just not feeling it.

Although the dog attire days are gone she still has her friends.
Lounging with Adrian.

 Kisses for Preston.

There is also hanging with Spanky.

Or her boyfriend back in the day.  Jack Black

She sleeps like this a LOT.  And she snores a tiny bit.
OKAY she snores like a full grown man with serious nasal problems.
No one is perfect!

During the day you can ususally find her right here on the couch.

Unless she make messes like this.

Then I think she only belongs here.

The End.

Travelin' Man

I had no plans today so I decided to ride along with my husband to a dairy farm in northern Wisconsin. No drama, no wit, just a lot of traveling and a few pictures.

Here is superman making a call to the dairy farmer.  He hates it when I take pictures of him but what could he say to me while he was on the phone.

And we hit the road.  Most of it looked like this with the exception of, the farther north we got the more pine trees there were.

There are a LOT of these signs in Wisconsin.  There is actually snowmobile highways all over the place. Crossing lakes, fields, rivers, forests, and even state highways.

We also saw a lot of this beautiful Lupine along the side of the road.

This is the dairy farmer that was nice enough to let me take pictures of her cows. ( Wish I had some of her thick hair).

Here are the girls.  They all sauntered in to the barn and got into their little spaces.  I was really suprised that it didn't smell too bad inside the barn.

Then we started to see the wild life of northern Wisconsin.  Like this vicious wild cat.  It could have pounced on my head and scratched my eyes out!

Okay not so much,  just a barn cat that followed me everywhere.
Meow, meow.

We also saw this little duck taking a stroll down the dock.

Not far away I saw this turtle. After I took this picture it turned around and went back into the grass.  Guess it just wasnt his day to cross the road.

I couldnt stand it any longer.  I just had to get a closer shot of the flowers.

Out in a field we saw these sandpipers.  We saw a lot of them today.

And we saw one lone deer.

And the last photo of the day was of Diamond Lake.  It could be our favorite lake in Wisconsin.  We are still looking though.  There are soooo many.

I Got Tha Bluuuuueeeesssssss

Okay, here's the deal.  I have never been a fan of Blue Cheese.  The taste was just too strong for my delicate palette.  But, things change and I found this awesome multipurpose cheese mixture that I just can't wait to share with you.  So, here we go.

This is the stuff.
Parsley, garlic, red onion, olive oil, red wine vinegar and tha cheese.

First ya crumble the cheese by using two forks.  Don't buy the crumbled cheese because it has an additive to keep it from sticking together and when you mix it with the oil and vinegar it kind of gets the consistency of snot. ( Just keepin it real)
So, crumble with forks and spread in a 9 inch pie pan. (Yes I know that's not a pie pan.  It got left in Misery  Missouri.)  I used about a half of a pound, give or take a few ounces.

Crumbled Cheese

Then chop the onion, about 3/4 cup, depending on how much you like onions.  And chop the parsley around a half cup or so.

Sprinkle on top of cheese.

Then in a bowl combine 1/3 C of Olive Oil and 3 T. of Red Wine Vinegar along with 2 cloves of chopped garlic.  (Fresh garlic would have worked also but I didn't have any)
 Oil, vinegar and garlic.

After you whisk that mixture thoroughly, drizzle it all around the cheese, parsley and onions.  Then cover it and chill for at least one hour.
 Complete Mixture.

The first time I had this was on crackers like this.

Tonight we had it on top of grilled hamburgers.  Sorry, no pictures.
And tomorrow I will be sprinkling on top of my salad at lunch.
Try it, you might like it.

River Front Fun

This morning we, my husband and I, went with the Olsens to check out an open air art show on the river front in Eau Claire. Then after some walking, dancing, eating, and posing we went to a lake to fish.  Seems to be quite the normal thing to do now.  The fishing part, not the dancing.

So, here is the begining of the art show.
You think they wanted you to know where the ATM machines are?

There were a lot of vendors there.  Several pottery artist.  One vendor that was selling beautiful photos that he had taken of different flowers with his macro lense.  And many many others.  I for some reason didnt take many photos of them.  I guess I was too busy gawking.
Here is one of the vendors.  Took this shot for my sista.  She is a little bit of a necklace fanatic.  And no, I didn't buy one.

Here is another.
Mittens.... they're not just for winter anymore.

This is looking down towards the river at the "stage"

And here is my nephew, Preston.  He was definately enjoying the music.

As was his sister, Raquel. Struttin her stuff.

Here is Superman.  Keeping watch.
Preston had to take a break and give Hailey some lovin.  It's what big brothers do.

Okay this is not someone dancing, or eating or posing.  But we did walk on that bridge before we left and well, I just thought it was a cool shot.

Here is my brother in law, niece and nephew "posing"

Then we left and went fishing.  We caught fish. Did I get any pictures?  No, ya seen one fish you've seen em all.  BUT, Preston and Raquel had never seen leaches before and the just couldnt quit playing with them.  KIDS!

P.S. I know there are not pictures of us eating.  I was busy...............eating.
