Today I woke up to a beautiful Wisconsin fall morning.
The sun was shining and it was nice and cool outside.
One of the things Mom and I had planned during her visit was a
tour of the barn quilts in Lafayette county in the most southern part of the state.
Apparently they are a big deal around here. There is even a website for them.
But we saw so many other random things that I took pictures of that the
barn quilts got put on the back burner for another blog, another day.
So here are a few of the things that caught my eye today.
I love this faded barn.
Here is mom admiring the Wisconsin river.
And here is a photo of the hills in Governor Dodge State Park.
Definite camping potential.
We saw some hanging tobacco and Mom thought I should take a shot of it.
Then we pulled into the small town of Shullsburg.
It was a very cute town that had lots of little shops along the skinny main street.
Someone likes hopscotch because we found this court on the sidewalk.
And it went the entire length of the block.
Shullsburg has a population of barely over 1000
but they are important enough to have an Opera House.
The cows in Wisconsin are a little on the wild side I guess.
And this was the last shot of the day.
Also, my favorite.
